SAFARI OVERVIEW

This safari is ideal for families seeking for an ultimately relaxing holiday as well as for couples on a honeymoon who want to experience all of Tanzania’s top safaris, stay close to nature, and be spoiled by the luxurious amenities and ambiance of your accommodations. Among the safaris you will see are Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park.

DAY 1

Arrive to Kilimanjaro airport, picked by our driver and then transfer to Springlands hotel or similar for overnight and breakfast.

DAY 2

Early morning after the breakfast drive from Springlands Hotel or similar in Moshi to Arusha National Park. This takes about 1 hour. You will get to know the Ngurdoto Crater, Momella Lakes, highland Montane forest, and the rugged Mount Meru (4,565 m/14,977 ft.). The park has a wealth of wildlife including Columbus Monkeys, velvet monkeys, bushbucks, buffalos, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, and giraffes. Birdlife, especially waterfowl, is abundant and interesting. Overnight Highview Hotel or similar.

DAY 3

The drive from Highview hotel to Lake Manyara National Park takes about 1 hour. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive, which is the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and others. In the evening, drive to the Highview Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4

After the breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi for some cultural activities with the bushmen-wa Hadzabe tribe. They are often willing for visitors to come and see their simple bush homes where the tree canopy alone or a cave provides them with shelter. They live entirely off the bush and from hunting. After getting a special opportunity to walk with the Hadza, hunting or gathering honey and insects from the bush, you transfer to the Highview Hotel or similar hotel for overnight - full board.

DAY 5

Drive from the Highview Hotel to Lake Natron for a full day hike. You will see great birdlife along the shore, and location alone makes it a great place to spend a couple of activities including hiking into the water fall, a bird watching walk, or walking into the hominid foot print after the picnic lunch in the late evening drive to Lake Natron Tented Camp or Similar for dinner and relaxing. An option to climb Oldonyo Lengai Mountain is recommended if you are interested is highly recommended. This is normally 1 day hike at early in the morning around 23 hrs and then after summiting descend back for resting and morning breakfast. Ol Doinyo Lengai, "Mountain of God" in the Maasai language, is an active volcano located in the Gregory Rift, south of Lake Natron within the Arusha Region of Tanzania

DAY 6

The drive to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch and the game drive en route. Then in the late evening, drive to and overnight at the Serengeti Wild Camp: - full board.

DAY 7

After breakfast, venture into the Serengeti’s wilderness corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. With a picnic lunch beside you, take your leisure while exploring this world heritage site, where earth’s largest concentration of plain game still roams free! In the late evening, go to either the Serengeti Wild Camp or similar for rest, dinner, and overnight. An option for the early morning balloon ride to get an eagle eye view of the great Serengeti plain, and later on rewarded with champagne breakfast before starting the game drive.

DAY 8

After breakfast, venture into the Serengeti’s wilderness corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. With a picnic lunch beside you, take your leisure while exploring this world heritage site, where earth’s largest concentration of plain game still roams free! In the late evening, go to either the Serengeti Wild Camp or similar for rest, dinner, and overnight.

DAY 9

Another full day of safaris in Serengeti national parks, dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wild Camp.

DAY 10

Breakfast followed by the half day game drive in Serengeti National park, en route to Ngorongoro, in the late evening go to Ngorongoro Wild Camp or Similar for dinner and overnight – Full Board.

DAY 11

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive inside the crater. This is the best place in Tanzania to see black rhino as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-manned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game that you can see includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. In the late afternoon drive to Highview Hotel or Similar for Dinner and overnight. FB

DAY 12

The drive from the Highview Hotel to Tarangire National Park takes two hours. This park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands and Oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rain when they migrate again to good grazing areas. In the late afternoon, drive back to Springlands Hotels or Similar in Moshi for dinner and overnight.

DAY 13

After the breakfast transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your departure flight back home.
